The Arenacross Tour presented by Fix Auto UK is on a roll as it announces its Freestyle Motocross plans for the 2023 series.
Never seen Freestyle Motocross (FMX) before? It takes the action, quite literally, to another level! It’s mind-blowing, spectacular and dangerous in equal measure. It takes place some 60ft in the air when a group of insanely talented ‘rebels’ fly off a huge ramp over a platform in the centre of the arena, throwing loads of cool and seemingly impossible tricks, one-handed, no-handed, sideways, upside-down, you name it, they do it.
Similar to the racing, the FMX crew will be an all-British affair with no less than six talented FMX-ers currently putting the finishing touches to their breath-taking routines in readiness for the opening night of the Tour at the SSE Arena in Belfast next January.
In a little over 50 days, the cream of British FMX namely Jamie ‘Squibby’ Squib, Nez Parker, Dan Whitby, Aaron and Ryan Powley and Josh Morris will take to the arena stage, with a mission to wow the Northern Irish crowd.
Squibby has been with AX since day one and is arguably one of the best FMX athlete in the country. Wild, yet controlled, on a bike, he never ever fails to impress AX audiences with his extraordinary backflips and crazy tricks.
Nez Parker is a former top-level British motocross contender. Prior to joining Arenacross, the ace backflipper endured a racing career marred by injury, he turned to FMX a few years’ ago as it was ‘safer’.
Dan Whitby is dedicated to fitness and manages the Bolddog FMX team. He’s the master of the Captain Morgan jump, and is one of the nicest guys you’ll meet but, put him on a bike and he’s as competitive as the next man.
Arran Powley is a long-standing member of the Bolddog team. He’s quieter than most but just loves riding bikes and is relentless in his pursuit of learning new tricks.
Powley’s younger brother Ryan rose through the schoolboy motocross ranks to adult but has followed his brother’s talent and taken to freestyle like the proverbial duck to water.
The final member of the 2023 Arenacross FMX line-up, 24-year-old Josh Morris is an up-and-coming star who initially started work with Arenacross as one of the track crew, shovelling dirt and stacking tuff blocks. He was jokingly encouraged to don the Arenacross mascot outfit – Max, and then decided he wanted to become an FMX star – he’ll be whipping and tricking throughout the 2023 Tour.
Whether a Captain Morgan, massive backflip, a Tsunami whip, Cliffhanger or train, these guys are masters of their art. This band-of-six can be counted on to crank up the action wherever, and whenever, they perform and if they don’t get the AX crowd on its feet yelling and hollering for more, nothing will.
Arenacross Tour tickets are on sale now, with prices from just £26.52 plus fees. Arena doors open at 6pm, with the opening ceremony getting underway at 7.30pm.
