Freeman fires in double victory at Italian Enduro Championship Round 3

Freeman fires in double victory at Italian Enduro Championship Round 3

Over the weekend, the 3rd round of the Italian Enduro Championship 2024 took place in Spoleto, Umbria.

The Moto Club Spoleto, supported by the Track Inspector Mario Rinaldi, designed a race track worthy of a world championship round for the occasion. The race weekend kicked off with the Prologue on Friday evening, which attracted a large audience of fans in the picturesque setting of Spoleto’s historic centre. The race course included three technical and demanding special tests to be repeated 4 times on Saturday and 3 times on Sunday, in order: a 4-km Cross Test, a spectacular and demanding Extreme Test on hard terrain of 1.5 km in length, and at the end a Enduro Test inside a forest with hard and slippery ground for a total of 5.5 km.

Brad Freeman ruled on both days of competition, the British rider recorded several best overall times especially in the difficult and demanding special stages of the Extreme and Enduro Test. Brad won both days in the Overall Class and in the Foreign Class. Thanks to the double victory, Brad Freeman climbed up the Championship Standings and moved into 3rd position.

A trickier weekend for Nathan Watson who was unable to show his best due to an injury that kept him away from training after the race in Romania. Nevertheless, the rider finished in 6th and 8th position in the Overall Class and 4th and 5th position in the Foreign Class.

Brad Freeman

“A perfect weekend with two excellent victories that got me into the 3rd position Overall. I am recovering well from my injury and hope to do well at the Italian GP in Bettola at the end of June.”

Nathan Watson

“Not my best weekend, I couldn’t get the right speed in the special tests Enduro Test and Extreme Test, while in the Cross Test I was able to express myself at my best and recorded some good times.”

The Beta Factory Enduro Team will be back on track for the Enduro World Championship in Bettola over the weekend of the 23rd of June.
