Five alive! Scunthorpe Winter Flat Track Championship Round 5 – Rundown, Results, Pictures and Standings!

The fifth round of the 2021/2022 Scunthorpe Winter Flat Track Championship took place on a gripper than usual track which served up some super-fast racing and some quick race times.

Jack Bell was back and at his best only being defeated once in the heats by Ted Wilkinson. In the final it was Bell with the win over Wilkinson with Trevor Heath in third.

Flat Track Grid

In the MX/Dirt Bike class Adam Nicholls was the top dog and took the final over Cid Norman and Iain Harrison Senior.

The MX Class

There was a five-way fight for honours in the heats of the Pitbike category between Dan Thompson, Paul Cooper, Neil Mcdermott, Sean Seddon and Simon Field but when it came down to the final Cooper got the job done with Thompson second and Seddon third.

Pit Bike action

Erin Dyer and Rachel Pledge shared the heat victories in the Ladies class but in the final Dyer hammered home the win ahead of Joanne Kirland and Wag Scott with Pledge having to settle for fourth.

The Minibike class was stacked and it was the aforementioned Erin Dyer who took the heat one chequers, but from there on in Ted Wilkinson took back control, getting the better of his Flat Track class rival Jack Bell in the final with Paddy Moore in third.

In the Inapproprite group, Scott Thompson was a class act and went through the card in the heats and taking the number one spot in the final for good measure over Aaron Staniforth in second and Jake Staniforth in third.

Inappropriate action

Odgie Danaan was a man on a mission in the Vintage class heading home Jon Dyer and Nick Rock in the final while over in the Super Comp class Robin Brown flew high and took the top step of the podium. Darius Zbyrowski and Iain Harrison Senior were second and third in the Super Comp final.

Street Comp – Vintage Flat Track

Sam Shook maxed out in the Street Tracker heat races but when it came down to the final Aaron Staniforth ramped it up a gear and grabbed the victory, Darius Zbyrowski was second with Shook having to settle for the third step of the podium.

Junior one

In the Junior 1 class Ryan Ingram and Frankie Wilkinson duked it out for the top spot sharing heat race wins. In the deciding finale though it was Ingram who sped past the finish line with the lead. Wilkinson was second with Mya Harris third.

Junior 2

Wyatt Hopkins hit home three race victories in the heats to Paddy Moore’s one in Junior 2 but like in any final anything can happen and in this instance Moore got the better of his rival Hopkins, with Lane Tildelsey in third.
