Last weekend saw the return of Fast Eddy Racing to one of the most famous motocross tracks in the world- Hawkstone Park. There was a new format for this year, with Round 4 of the ACU British Extreme Enduro Championship and two practice sessions on Saturday, and a kids race, Steady Eddy race and The Original Fast Eddy XC race on Sunday.

The track was similar to previous years, as it always is with Hawkstone, but with some changes. The Extreme track used most of the woods, with numerous tough uphills and tricky downhills, as well as parts of the motocross track. As for the Sunday races, the woods were dialled down from the day before and, for the adult races, the famous Hawkstone Hill was included.
Saturday saw Hawkstone Park host Round 4 of the ACU British Extreme Enduro Championship. Jed Etchells stormed his way to victory, gaining the lead early on and continuously building his lead on Ricky Wiggins and the rest of the Championship class. Ricky Wiggins took an impressive second, finishing 4.5 minutes after Jed, and Mitchell Brightmore was 40 seconds later in third. Rich Moorhouse put on a terrific show to take fourth overall and top spot in the Expert class, with second in class Ashton Brightmore finishing 8th overall. Ross Danby was a lap down in third.
Bert Boam was the top Clubman rider on the day with an impressive eight laps under his belt. Will Cawte made second spot behind Boam, as Callum Hughes took third in class. As for the Elite Vets, Matty Temple came out on top followed by Alex Owen in second and Lee Thornton in first.
Continuing his successful season, Henry Life took the win in the Youth class ahead of Toby Shaw in second place. Charlie Crossland rounded out the Youth podium in third place.
Gary McCoy took the class win in the Over 50s. Second place went to Lee Cornish, followed by Chris Salt in third. The Vets B class performed extremely well, with class winner Richard Hawes finishing among some Experts and Clubmen. Second place went to Grant Gillender, followed by Michael Smith who both put in great rides.
The Sportsman class is always one of the largest, and this time it was Liam McShane who took charge. He had a great ride, placing 39th overall and taking the class win over Joseph Howsam and Ben Crowcroft in second and third.
Sunday kicked off bright and early at 9am with the hour-long Kids Race. With blazing sun and a rising temperatures, the conditions were tough for the young riders.
In the BW 85cc class it was Jayden Jones who topped the podium, taking the overall race win too! Jayden rode brilliantly, having built a 1.5 minute lead on second place by the halfway point of the race. Riley Voase came home behind Jayden in second place, followed by Connor Watson in third. Jack Brooks took first place in the SW 85cc class after a great ride, with James Gittins-Jones behind in second. Gruff Morgan rounded out the podium in third place. The 65s gave it their all and made riding Hawkstone look easy, with George Sheldon taking the class win. Dexter Hind followed him to place second, with Talan Harbour coming in third.
Then it was time for the Steady Eddy race, and with 180 riders on the start line it was sure to be interesting.
Chris Wagstaff put in a great ride to win the Over 50s B class and the race overall. Allan Price was pushing to catch up with Wagstaff, but finished with a well-earned second place, followed by Andrew Dean in third. In the Vets B class it was Phil Taylor who dominated and took the win in front of Jason Clarke and Anthony Foulkes.
In the Sportsman 2T class it was Nathan Lewis who took the win, which was an impressive feat. However, Will Barnett and Graham Hill were very close behind in second and third. Sportsman 4T saw some equally exciting battles, but in the end it was Clau Filip who came out on top, followed by Ian Taylor and Reece Hadley.
In the Novice class it was Alfie Marsden who took the top podium spot, followed by Tom Sudall in second and Sam Hockenhull in third. Two 85s took on the adult race in their own class, so well done to Ewan Edwards and Reece Giles who placed first and second respectively.
The main event started at just after 2pm, the afternoon sun beating down and lighting up Hawkstone Park. Everyone flocked to the start line, thankful for the shade from the trees allowing them to escape the heat for a while. Once the riders set off, it was busy with spectators lining the wooden track barriers to cheer on their favourite Pro riders as well as family and friends.
The Championship class’ race was eventful as always! Brad Freeman had a stormer of a first lap, with around a 30 second lead over Jed Etchells, which he kept building on throughout the race. Unfortunately, bike issues 1.5 hours in meant that Jed had to pull out, leaving Alex Snow, Alfie Webb and Harry Edmondson to fight for podium places. Brad was leading the way at the front, taking the class and overall win. Alex Snow had worked his way up to second place and kept it until the end. Alfie Webb and Harry Edmondson were neck and neck, but eventually Harry just managed to pass Alfie on the penultimate lap to take third place.
James Palmer stormed the Expert class to take first place over 30 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor. Second place went to Doug Lote who rode superbly, followed by Tom Minta in third to round out the podium. Bert Boam, following his success in the Extreme race the day before, did the double by topping the Clubman 2T class in the PM Race! Callum Hughes placed second, with Liam Wilkes in third. The Clubman 4T class was equally as competitive as the 2T, and it was Luke Evans who took the lead and fended off second place Martin Jessop throughout the race. Third place went to Kevin Green.
John Shirt dominated to take the win in the Over 50s A class. Michael Brooks and Gary McCoy placed second and third respectively. Rick Du Feu dominated the Vets A class to take the win, followed closely by Derek Bawn and Lee Thornton.
It was Roan Delaney who topped the Youth 125/150cc class podium after the gruelling 2 hours, followed by Charlie Crossland and Jack Sandland.
