The EMX Sparks Race Series began with a dynamic warm-up race weekend at Pembrey Race Circuit, aligned with the British Truck Racing Championship. This launch set the stage for the British Master E-Drive Balance Bike and Motocross Race Series, displaying remarkable young talent across various classes, and setting a high competitive bar for the upcoming rounds at Pembrey MX and Monster Mountain MX.
Event Highlights:
12-inch E Drive Class: Angus Coates achieved a remarkable comeback with three victories on Sunday, overcoming a challenging start. Tommi Lewis also clinched three race wins, while wildcard entrant Rex Page consistently performed to secure second place overall.
12.5 Oset Class: Cellan Rees was both the overall winner and recipient of the ‘Most Determined Rider’ and ‘Most Heartfelt Rider’ awards, with Shane Carless recognising Cellans efforts by awarding his race shirt. Reggie Davies made strong starts throughout the weekend, and Reuben Grabham nearly clinched a race win in one of the weekend’s most exciting races.
16-inch E Drive Class: Gunner Day showcased dominance with four race wins, including a thrillingly close finish against Parker Herbert in the fourth race, which was decided by just 0.7 seconds. Brad Careless and Olivia Shelley followed in third and fourth place, respectively, while Charlie Jamieson marked his birthday weekend with competitive racing, and Stanley Sewell faced mechanical setbacks.
18 E Drive Class: Ortus Alexander Simons excelled in back-to-back classes, maintaining a strong overall position, with Oakley Sheldon leveraging challenges to secure final race victories.
E3 MX: Kaylum Clarke dominated by winning all six races, the only rider to score maximum points, with Hunter Dunstan and Poppy James placing second and third, respectively.
E5 MX: Ortus Alexander Simons overcame Sunday’s challenges to deliver a strong performance with three wins on Saturday, facing significant competition from Oakley Seldon and Noah Brown.
PW50 Class: Harry Corps secured a dramatic overall victory against Logan Caplian, who was initially ahead with three race wins on Saturday. Corps win in Sunday’s final race decisively tipped the scales in his favor, highlighting the intense competition throughout the weekend.
