The event was a round of the ACU British Bike Rally Championship and has been running since 1996 but was back called the Cambrian Rally, this year however turned out to be tougher than previous events with heavy rain throughout the Saturday making some part of the track a little slippery but more than rideable to the more experienced riders.
Three laps of aproximately 27 miles was the schedule for both days a 10am start on the Saturday and a 9am start on the Sunday meaning an earlier finish for those that had travelled as from as far as the Isle of Man to the South of England as well as riders from most parts of Wales.
The 27 mile lap mostly comprised of forest roads but with two different special tests per lap that included a fair bit of off road going in the South of the Forest WTRA seemed to have got the lap spot on not even the heavy rain failed to dampen the riders spirits. Sunday would be a little better with only a few showers of rain but as the event drew to a close in the afternoon the sunshine broke out as the riders made their way home after two demanding days of riding and hopefully netting some good points for the championship.
