With around 100 youth riders at the annual Dredgers Laugharne Motorcross Club (DLMX) at Pendine, the home of land speed records in West Wales was awakened to the sound of screaming engines at an early 08.30 as the first of the practise sessions kicked into gear, on Saturday 7th October.

With dry weather on their side but with the tide not on their side, the racing was textbook organisation, as one race finished, the next race was off the line within two minutes of the previous race finishing, a credit to the organisers.
A new shorter track layout greeted the young riders, which went down well with plenty of jumps and a great start straight along the sea line for a good blast before the switchback lines, berms and jumps where the spectators could view from the terrace above the beach.
As the mornings racing drew to a close with the tide nibbling the start straight as it came in yet again the small DLMX team had pulled off another classic racing fixture the kids were happy with their trophies most of the traders in the village of Pendine were happy as were the Community Council with extra income generated in the quieter period of the season with the holiday makers having gone home after the summer season.
Making it a whole weekend of motorsport at the home of the Welsh Landspeed Records venue on Pendine beach the Sunday morning saw a huge line up of adults racing heir bikes. With five classes ranging from the Pro / expert class to the noc=vices and a class for the quads made it a great morning racing with plenty of spills and thrills as some riders inspected the sand a little closer than others !!!
As the day drew a close the DLMX team ran a blinder of a meeting, no hold ups with each race getting underway within minutes of the previous race finishing. The sun shone down all morning with racing all done and dusted by around 1pm.
Unfortunately a laptop issue for the club has meant that we cannot publish the results.
