When it comes to racing Motocross, Nev Bradshaw has been there, done it and got a wardrobe full of t-shirts, but he continues to race at a high level while working within the industry at Ci Sport. We caught up with him post his Pendine Beach Race crash (watch his blog episode below) and fired over our Dirty Dozen questions, and here is what he came back with…

Dirt Hub: Do you have a Pre-Race Playlist you listen to, and if so, name a couple of tracks that are on it?
Nev: Yes, I like to use music to try to get into a relaxed zone. Cam’ron – Killa Kam, Lil Wayne – London Roads, Foo Fighters – Everlong, Gyptian – Hold Ya, Band of Horses – The Funeral.
DH: When was the last time you cried?
Nev: 2 days after my crash at that beach race in wales a month ago, I was lying on the couch in pain, all dizzy and felt super guilty that I’d almost messed my whole family’s life up.
DH: What is your favourite inspirational quote?
DH: Do you have any weird suspicions or pre-race rituals?
Nev: No not really I just have to stretch heaps now I’m an old timer; otherwise, I cramp up when I race..! Haha
DH: What drives you most to get up in the morning and go training?
Nev: Always still got a few mother truckers to prove wrong, and I also don’t wanna be fat like I was when I was younger
DH: If you didn’t race, what sport would you play?
Nev: Beer pong
DH: What is your biggest Phobia?
Nev: I don’t like snakes; they freak me out.
DH: Who is your biggest sporting idol, and why?
Nev: Growing up, I always looked up to Ben Bostrom, Paul Cooper, and Grant Langston. I love being around good athletes they carry such a positive aura; I search for that the older I get. I struggle to be around negative people now.
DH: Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?
Nev: Hopefully, still riding DirtBikes, working the same job, living on the coast. I quite like my life right now; I have a happy medium
DH: What is your all-time favourite movie?
Nev: The Shawshank Redemption.
DH: Who has had the biggest impact on your career?
Nev: My mom was probably the biggest influence, she sacrificed everything, worked 2 jobs to keep me racing, made me work hard for my racing, and never accepted less than my best effort, we chased it together in SA against all odds, and that set me up for anything.
DH: What is your philosophy on life?
Nev: Live simply, and let others simply live.
