Dirty Dozen with Mark Cossar

Mark Cossar had another incredible season taking the 1000cc British Sidecar Speedway Championships as well being runner up in the 1000cc British Masters Grasstrack along with taking a whole host of other wins during the season, so we thought we would fire him over our Dirty Dozen questions over to him to make his season complete…

Dirt Hub: Do you have a Pre-Race Playlist you listen too, and if so name a couple of tracks that are on it?

Mark: I don’t have a specific playlist, just depends what mood I’m in that’s if I even listen to music.

DH: When was the last time you cried?

Mark: I can’t actually remember probably when I stubbed my toe or something!

DH: What is your favourite inspirational quote?

Mark: Urm probably “If you’re not first you’re last”

DH: Do you have any weird suspicions or pre-race rituals?

Mark: Not really, I have to adjust the clutch every time before starting the bike that’s about it.

DH: What drives you most to get up in the morning and go training?

Mark: It depends what time of year it is, pre-season is the coming season, midseason is goals I set like championships and big meetings, end of season I really really struggle!

DH: If you didn’t race what sport would you play/take part in?

Mark: If I didn’t race I’d probably play rugby and shoot

DH: What is your biggest Phobia?

Mark: Heights

DH: Who is your biggest sporting idol and why?

Mark: Valentino Rossi. I think he’s adapted his style to different bikes and different competition remaining competitive for so long

DH: Where do you see yourself in five years time?

Mark: I’ll probably still be riding bikes! Grasstrack, Speedway, Enduro, MX and road race I won’t stop any unless I have to!

DH: What is your all-time favourite movie?

Mark: Don’t really have a favourite movie, I don’t like them as sat down for too long.

DH: Who has had the biggest impact on your career?

Mark: My Dad Andy for helping me and my wife Melissa for supporting me since I started!
