It’s been a sensational year for Lucy Barker, winning the European Women’s Motocross Championship, racing at the sharp end in WMX and winning the Ladies class of the Weston Beach Race and now the AVT Campers rider gets to deliver her answers to our Dirty Dozen questions…
Dirt Hub: Do you have a Pre-Race Playlist you listen to, and if so, name a couple of tracks that are on it?
Lucy: I’ve got my own playlist, yes; some songs are: Make Me Feel Good, My Eyes, Hall of Fame.
DH: When was the last time you cried?
Lucy: The last time I cried was erm Turkey I think.
DH: Do you have any weird suspicions or pre-race rituals?
Lucy: “I always do reaction warm-ups with my mum, and always do the same handshake with my mum and dad.”
DH: What drives you most to get up in the morning and go training?
Lucy: Hungry to win
DH: If you didn’t race what sport would you play or take part in?
Lucy: Play?😂Road biking or mountain biking or maybe even skiing.
DH: What is your biggest Phobia?
Lucy: I would say my biggest fear is rats and beaks.
DH: Who is your biggest sporting idol, and why?
Lucy: My biggest sporting idol is my Mum; she does road biking and trains very hard while running a business and being a mum to two motocross kids.
DH: Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?
Lucy: In five years time I see myself racing WMX up front.
DH: What is your all-time favourite movie?
Lucy: All time favourite movie is The Nativity
DH: Who has had the biggest impact on your career?
Lucy: I’d say my brother has had the biggest impact as he got me into the sport in the first place and has pushed me on and been a massive guide ever since then.
DH: What is your philosophy on life?
Lucy: Live it to the fullest, you’ve got one shot so do everything you can to achieve your goals and have fun while doing it.
