Dirty Dozen with Ashton Dickinson

After hauling his wares around the MXGP circuits in recent months we caught up with Ashton Dickinson in the downtime with our Dirty Dozen questions and here is how they came out…

Dirt Hub:  Do you have a Pre-Race Playlist you listen too, and if so name a couple of tracks that are on it?

Ashton:  I don’t really have a set playlist but there is a couple of artists I listen to before I moto like a bit of Tom Zanetti, Kevin Gates and even MC Innes lol.

DH: When was the last time you cried?

Ashton: When I lost my dog during lockdown, I was a mess for a few weeks. RIP Travis.

DH: What is your favourite inspirational quote?

Ashton: You get what you work for, not what you wish for.

DH: Do you have any weird suspicions or pre-race rituals?

Ashton: Yes I always have to put my left knee brace on before my right one, and when I’m on the line I punch my seat four times.

DH: What drives you most to get up in the morning and go training?

Ashton: A few things are my drive, it’s my hunger to wanna be better than everyone & the fact I want to try and better my life I want to make a good living doing MX.

DH: If you didn’t race what sport would you play or take part in?

Ashton: I will probably get a lot of stick for this but it would be football for sure.

DH: What is your biggest Phobia?

Ashton: Scaffolding & Mud races.

DH: Who is your biggest sporting idol and why?

Ashton: Zlatan Ibrahimović, because he has a strong mindset and strong belief in himself.

DH: Where do you see yourself in five years time?

Ashton: I really don’t know I am just focused on the now and take life a day at a time.

DH: What is your all-time favourite movie?

Ashton: Back to the future, the best film ever made.

DH: Who has had the biggest impact on your career?

Ashton: My loved ones, they are always there for me when I need help and need a shove in the right direction.

DH: What is your philosophy on life?

Ashton: Live life, Work hard and have fun.
