Daniels off to an early lead as Garcia tops the EnduroGP of Germany Super Test – Race Report & Highlights

The AKRAPOVIC Super Test gets the final round of the 2022 WPTGlobal FIM EnduroGP World Championship underway in Germany with Josep Garcia (KTM) setting the fastest time. Proving lightning fast around the night time special test in Zschopau, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider topped the overall time sheets by an impressive four seconds over Beta Factory Racing’s Brad Freeman, with Milan Schmuser (Sherco) third.

In the Magnorange FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship Fantic’s Jane Daniels was fastest.

The eagerly anticipated seventh and final round of the 2022 WPTGlobal FIM EnduroGP World Championship in Zschopau, Germany got underway in fine style with the customary Friday night AKRAPOVIC Super Test. With the course featuring both indoor and outdoor sections, thousands of spectators filled the floodlight arena to watch the action unfold.

Garcia goes fastest

Putting on a show for the enduro passionate audience, Josep Garcia was simply flawless around the test and set a time no one could match. Finishing four seconds faster than anyone else, the Spaniard has shot out to an early lead in EnduroGP ahead of tomorrow’s racing.

Putting in a solid ride, Brad Freeman brought his Beta home in second, while local favourite Milan Schmuser (Sherco) was just over two seconds behind Freeman in third.

EnduroGP championship leader Andrea Verona (GasGas) didn’t have the best of starts to his weekend. A crash saw him place 13th. Already 12 seconds behind Garcia with work to do to tomorrow.

Daniels out to early lead

In the Magnorange FIM Women’s Enduro World Championship, Jane Daniels made good on her bid for the world title by setting the fastest time in tonight’s AKRAPOVIC Super Test. The British rider tackled the course with ease to take an early seven second lead over Rita Vieira (Yamaha). France’s Elodie Chaplot (Sherco) completed the top three.

In the Enduro Junior category, the home crowd had a lot to cheer for with German riders grabbing the top two places. With little to separate them, Milan Schmuser (Sherco) edged out Luca Fischeder (Sherco) by less than half of a second to take the win. The duo were well clear of their classmates, with Max Ahlin (Beta) ending his night over four seconds behind in third.

The Enduro Youth class saw championship contenders Kevin Cristino (Fantic) and Harry Edmondson (Fantic) battle it out for the win. Cristino bettered his teammate by three seconds to take the win. Albert Fontova (KTM) rounded out the top three.

The seventh and final round of the 2022 WPTGlobal FIM EnduroGP World Championship takes place in Zschopau, Germany on October 14-16.
