Covington, Jorgensen & Nunn form the Stafford Vans Squad for 2024 VMXDN Foxhill

With VMXdN Foxhill being the premier vet’s motocross event in the world, it’s no surprise that the big names keep on signing up for the well-loved MX event that takes place over the August bank holiday weekend at the iconic Wiltshire Grand Prix circuit.

The International VMXdN Team Race is a who’s who of the 90’s and 00’s motocross era, but the Wright Engineering Team Race is heating up and attracting its own big hitters.

One of the first teams to break cover in the Wright Engineering Team Race is the Stafford Vans Squad, managed jointly by Will Hill MD and former GP and long-time professional team manager Rob Hooper, who are not messing about, the team will certainly be a contender for the win, and you would be brave to bet against them.

Starting off with Thomas Covington, who will race a 99 G-Shock RM 250 Suzuki built by Hooper. Notably he achieved a podium finish in his debut MXGP race in Qatar in (2014). Throughout his 86 MX2 classification GP’s Covington secured victories in Mexico, France, and Turkey. In 2017, he proudly represented Team USA at the Motocross of Nations in England. After returning to the U.S, IN 2019, injuries interrupted his supercross and motocross endeavours. Covington then ventured back to the FIM Motocross World Championship in 2020, competing in the premier MXGP division before retiring at the end of the season. Currently, he is involved in promoting Class 1 World Championship offshore powerboat racing, showcasing his passion for motorsport.

Then the stars keep on coming with Dane Brian Jorgensen, who needs no introduction to the British fans. Jorgensen raced for many years at GP level as well as the British championships. Jorgensen raced the original G-shock back in 1996 when he raced for Rob Hooper’s team and will carry the same G-Shock livery on the RM250 Suzuki he will be racing. One of the most likeable and amiable riders you could wish to meet, and he will be an invaluable addition to the line-up at VMXdN Foxhill. Jorgensen’s highlights are a grand prix win plus numerous MXDN team places.

To finish up last but properly not least is British sensation Sam Nunn who will race a CR 250 which is owned by his father & long-term mechanic Chris from new, for his sponsor John Banks. Sam finished 8th overall in the MX2 British championships in 23 as well as winning 4 out of the 8 races he entered in last year’s VMXdN, 2nd in the team race & 2nd in the solo class so he will be a front runner for sure.

This race is heating up – exciting times indeed!

Keep your eyes peeled as the promoters have indicated “there is plenty more to come -weekly releases from here on in!”
