There was success for Team GB in the 65cc class, where the top three from the British Championship in the category, Harley Marczak, Casey Lister, and Cohen Jagielski, put in a consistent day to edge the French team by a single point to the win in the class! Estonian Gregor Lootus took both moto wins on the smallest machines in the event.
The French team were incredibly strong in the 85cc Class with all of their members finishing top ten in each race! An injury to Robbie Daly kept Team GB back in 3rd behind Finland on a tie-breaker, whilst Swiss rider Ryan Oppliger won the opening two motos. He was just beaten in the final race by France’s Kenzo Ferez.
The Open class saw GP-riding Welsh speedster Joel Rizzi win the opening moto, but French flyer Maxime Grau won the last two, and with Billy Askew having a tricky second moto the Brits ended 3rd in their class. Rizzi did enough to win the Open class overall in his first race on a 450. Team Sweden, helped by the consistent results of Anton Graf Nordstrom, won that class overall ahead of Belgium.
Even though the French could only muster 4th in class in the Open, their strong results in the smaller classes saw them through to win the team trophy overall by a mere 16 points from Team GB with Belgium in 3rd.
