Following heavy rain earlier in the week there were concerns if the event would run, but the track turned out to be in fantastic condition for the final round. Coming into the event Tom Grimshaw was sat in third place in the MX2 Championship and looking to confirm his position in the standings.

In the qualifying sessions, the MX2 class were out on track first and as the track started to settle and create some lines, Tom was able to post a solid lap time that saw him go 7th fastest and have a good gate position for the races, while Alfie Jones finished 10th fastest and Ben Franklin went 17th fastest. In the MX1 class, Glenn McCormick post a lap early in the session that saw him finish 12th fastest. In the Youth 250 class, the riders were once again combined with the Youth 125 riders and Harvey Cashmore went 11th fastest combined and 6th fastest in the Youth 250 class.

Going into the first MX2 race Tom was looking for a good start and result to help secure his championship medal. When the gate dropped all three riders started well and were inside the top 10 with Tom in 6th early on before passing for 5th and then moving into 3rd when two of the leaders crashed out of the race at the halfway stage. Tom continued to push hard until the end and claimed 4th at the finish. After starting in 8th Alfie rode a great race and managed to push forward and finish in 6th for his best result of the season in the MX2 class. Ben Franklin also was having a great race after starting in 10th, he got into 8th until his bike stopped with a couple of laps remaining and saw him classified as 20th place.

The second MX2 race saw Tom make a good start but unfortunately went down in the opening corners and remounted near the back of the field. By the end of the first lap, Tom had recovered well and was back into 11th just behind teammate Alfie and ahead of Ben in 13th. Tom continued to push forward and made it up to 8th and was battling with the group of riders up to 5th when he crashed again and went back to 9th where he would finish. Competing on a spare bike, Ben scored a solid race to finish in 13th place ahead of Alfie in 14th, who suffered a few small crashes.

The results saw Tom finish the day in 5th overall and secure 3rd in the Championship to complete his most successful season as a Pro. Alfie finished 11th overall on the day and 15th in the championship. Following the DNF in the first race, Ben finished 16th overall and 30th in the championship.

In the first MX1 race, Glenn made a good start and was battling with Shaun Simpson when the pair collided and although they both stayed on, Glenn lost his gear lever and was stuck in 3rd gear for the whole race. Despite the issue, Glenn was riding well in 13th place when he made a slight error and ran on into a fence and after getting back on track I decided to retire from the moto and prepare for race two with 19th place.

The second race saw Glenn make a good start but a mistake during the opening laps dropped him down the order to 14th, where he recovered to 12th at the finish. The two results gave Glenn 15th overall on the day and saw him secure 10th in the Championship.

Across the weekend in the Youth 250 class, Harvey struggled with his starts but recovered well to secure some solid results in the four races. On Saturday Harvey finished 4th in the opening moto and 9th in the second race after a crash. On Sunday, Harvey took 6th and 7th place to claim 6th overall and 5th in the championship.

Tim Chambers – The last round of the year has been good, Tom managed to secure third in the MX2 championship with a strong ride in the first race for 4th and following a crash off the start in the second race he came back to finish in the top 10. Alfie had he best result of the year in the first race with a 6th and then a couple of crashes in the second but still finished top 13. Ben was running 8th in the first race for his best result of the year when his bike stopped with a couple of laps left and then rode a spare bike in the second race and had a solid result of 12th so a good finish for him. Glenn had good starts in both races but had some small crashes and finished 12th in the second race to round off a good year with 10th in the championship. Harvey rode solid all weekend and finished 5th in the championship so overall it has been a really good year for the team.

Tom Grimshaw – It was a good day at the final at Landrake. I came home in a solid 4th in the first moto and had some good battled all race long and could see the second place all race long. I was really happy with my riding and coming into the weekend I was thinking that it was my last chance to get on the podium, so I was feeling good going into the second race. The second race I had a good start and then coming down into the second corner I tucked the front and went turn. I came from the back well and was inside the top 10 and then had another crash and went over the bars that shocked me slightly and broke my front brake, but I got up to finish in 9th for 5th overall. But my main aim was to secure third place in the championship which I did, and I am over the moon with that.

Alfie Jones – It was a good weekend with my personal best in the British with a 6th place finish in the first race. I started the weekend well with 10th in qualifying and gelled with the track quickly and then in the first race I made a good start and was able to push forward and finished up 6th. In race two I did not get the best start and crashed a couple of times which knocked me down the order and managed to finish 14th.

Ben FranklinIn qualifying I was 17th and the times were all very close so that was ok. Then in the first race, I made an ok start and was in a good battle for 7th and then two laps from the flag the engine packed up and it was a DNF, so it was disappointing as I was on for a good result. Then in second race I jumped on a spare bike, and it took a bit of getting used to during the race as the set up was different and managed to finish 13th.

Glenn McCormick – It was a pretty good weekend for myself, I qualified in 12th and the times were all close, so I was looking forward to the races. Then in the first race, I made a good start and then tangled with Simpson on the first corner and ripped my gear lever off and managed to get into 3rd gear and was battling on the back of the top 10 but then mid-race I got out of shape on the long downhill and ran on into the fence and retired from the race as I was a long way off the field when I recovered. In the second race I made another good start and was battling for 7th or 8th when I made a mistake and had to come back from that to finish in 12th which I was happy with and claimed 10th in the championship.

Harvey Cashmore – It was a good weekend, I did not have the best of starts this weekend, which made it hard for me. In the first race, I had a 4th which was good then in the second race, I had a small crash so I came from last to 9th. Then on Sunday in the third race I had a good start but pulled through to 6th and in the last race I had an ok start and was round 6th when I crashed on the first lap so had to come through again but pulled through to 7th.
