The MX1 qualification started early doors, With the riders taking to the track first.
The circuit had been well prepared, as always by the Woodbridge team.
With timed qualifying underway, From 4th to 15th there was only a 3-second difference between riders, Tom finished the session P13 with Dan just behind in P14.
MX2 qualifying, with timings like that of MX1 only a few seconds off the top 4-15 riders. Glenn crossed the line with P14, Ben P16 & Harvey P24.
Onto the racing and MX1 first race. Tom had a great jump out the gate, Which found himself in the top 6 coming out of the first corner. He was looking to get settled in and get to work but an unfortunate come to with another rider see Tom fall into the back of the pack. He managed to gain places throughout the race and finished up P15. Dan Didn’t have the best of starts and is still riding with an ongoing hand/wrist injury. He put his head down and showed really good speed, To cross the flag with P18.
MX2 race 1 was an eventful one, First gate drop see only half drop. The RHL team where unable to fix it in time so they reverted to the old-fashioned drop flag start.
Glenn & Ben both seemed to get a great jump and both come around the first corner in the top 12! Glenn had himself into P5 early on but got caught later on in the race to finish in a respectable P10 despite him also having an ongoing knee injury.
Ben’s first Britsh race back at Blaxhall since his unfortunate horrible leg break 2 years ago there. Putting that to the back of his mind he rode a really good race. Coming across the line in P12. Harvey Meanwhile was showing how much he had learned since stepping up to the MX2 class, Having some brilliant battles to finish in P25.
Race 2 for MX1, thankfully the gate issue seemed to be resolved, With both Dan and Tom having a blinding start within the top 10! Dan showed the speed and ability he has to be within the top 10. Over the course of the Moto and the ever-getting rougher track, Tom passed Dan to have a much better race than Moto 1 and got himself a P9 at the line. Dan had an awesome strong race from start to finish and ended the weekend with a P11, His best result so far.
MX2 Race, the dreaded start gate issue became an issue again. After 2 failed starts and red flags they finally got underway. Ben & Glenn found themselves within the top 10, with Harvey also having a brilliant start. For the remainder of the race, Ben and Glenn would find themselves battling it out for P9 & P10 switching back and forwards between the places. Ben just Piping Glenn in this race to finish P9 and Glenn P10.
Harvey had his best result in MX2 so far and finished in P21.
An eventful weekend for the team but they all showed capabilities and speed.
working towards that main goal. Small steps, But steps definitely in the right direction.
The weather was also a very much welcomed guest to the weekend.
