Building up for an even bigger Barracks Bonanza Grasstrack in 2023!

Michael Austin and his Dalton Grass-track Club crew have already started their preparations for the 2023 staging of the Barracks Bonanza event. Last year, engines roared again at the iconic Barracks venue for the first time in 20 years and what a superb sight and sound it was!

Words and Feature Image by Mike Wood

The 2023 bash is due to take place on Sunday, 30th April with a start time of 12.30pm and if it’s even half as good as the 2022 chapter then it’s certainly going to be an event not to be missed! Last year, James Shanes took the 500cc Solo’s honours with Tony Atkin the Upright Solo’s victor whilst Mark Cossar/Gareth Williams just edged out Colin Blackbourn/Carl Pugh in a thrilling 1000cc Sidecar tussle which was arguably the race of the year!

So, get along to Dalton Barracks near Abingdon in Oxfordshire, OX13 6BX and give the club your full support. Admission charges are £18 Adults, Under 16’s FREE and a programme £2. If you want to make a whole, happy weekend of it, there’s FREE camping available from 12pm on Saturday, 29th April until 10am on Monday, 1st May. Hot and cold food, a bar and a FREE Children’s climbing wall will also be onsite.
