Bike It Kawasaki MX2 Racing Team’s Bobby Bruce raced his first GP outside Europe during the 2024 FIM World MX2 Motocross Championship campaign at Villa La Angostura in Argentina finishing an encouraging ninteenth.
Bruce shot out of the gate in the first moto to hold down twelfth place on the opening lap. He maintained the pace just outside the top ten for four more laps before a slip pushed him back to nineteenth but he settled down again quickly to recover to sixteenth at the finish. The English teenager maintained a top-fifteen placing throughout half of race two before the pace took its toll in his first race since he was injured last June and he settled for eighteenth at the chequered flag. His efforts earnt nineteenth overall.
Bobby Bruce: “It was tough but we enjoyed it. This was my first race since June last year. The weekend started off good with P10 in practice and I was up there in Qualifying but I had a crash first lap and lost the rear brake. In the first race today I was running sixteenth but crashed, and and I was P13 for a long time in the second moto but I just couldn’t hold on to it. But we leave here healthy and I’m looking forward to Madrid.”
