BICKERS POWERSPORTS today announced the celebration of its 50th anniversary.
Founded in 1975, BICKERS POWERSPORTS began as a motorcycle shop in Ipswich and has grown into a thriving nationwide powersports importer and distributor, serving a network of over 2,500 dealers.
“We are incredibly proud to reach this milestone. Over the past 50 years, we have built a strong foundation of family values in customer service and have built an industry-leading portfolio of brands with Motorex, Maxxis, RK Chain, Supersprox, Yuasa, NGK, and more recently we have added Alpinestars and Moto-Master. This foundation has allowed us to consistently exceed expectations and build lasting relationships with our customers,” said Derek McMartin,

About Bickers Powersports
In 1963, multiple European ‘scrambling’ champion, Dave Bickers, worked with CZ bikes selling the bikes he racing on and the seeds of BICKERS were planted. On the 2nd April, 1975 Bickers Anglia (Accessories) Limited was founded – during this time, Dave formed and performed in a stunt company, Bickers Action, a company that still exists today being involved in block buster films like James Bond, Jason Bourne, Mission Impossible, Harry Potter, and many more.
The 80’s saw Bickers grow into a leading supplier in the motorcycle industry, merged with Peter McMartin’s company, Importer Motorcycle Parts (IMP), and eventually expanded to a UK nationwide distributor sourcing major international brands from Asia and Europe.
In 1999, Peter McMartin completed a management buyout with his sons in the business. In 2005, Bickers became Maxxis International (UK) Plc. and moved into a 3.5-acre warehouse site in Felixstowe, Suffolk, where they still operate today. They have operated under different trading names depending on the market. To reach their Irish customers, a joint venture was agreed upon in 2016, forming Bickers Dornan Wholesale.
As of March 2025, they announced our new trading name, BICKERS POWERSPORTS, which more accurately reflects the core business the company operates in and provides a stronger brand identity for their customers.
Today, BICKERS POWERSPORTS is in its third generation, with over 50 brands, 11,000+ products, and a dealer network of more than 2,500. They are a leading distributor for motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, 4x4s, OE, mobility, and everything in between.
