In an always-stacked MX2 class, James rattled off some good qualifying laps to finish second in his group. Moto One was a hard slog, but James came from the back after some early mishaps to finish 33rd. Moto 2 was a significant improvement, with a 22nd.

James said of this weekend, “Round 1 of the Dutch masters went good for me; qualifying started really well with p12 in my group, and the times were really close. In the first race, I made a few mistakes, which made it hard coming back from 40th to 33rd, but the speed was good. Race 2 was a lot better, finishing 22nd. I was hoping for a better result, but I’m happy with my riding and the consistency of my lap times. Ready for the first round of the European championship this weekend in Madrid.”

James will be joined by his sister Lucy in Spain this weekend where they begin their EMX250 and WMX crusades in the MXGP of Spain at intu Xanadú – Arroyomolinos.
