The fabled Coupe de L’Avenir – “Futures Cup” in French, but please keep the French title of this team event! – generally known as the Youth Motocross of Nations fires into life this weekend, and Team GB are ready to defend the title of the Under-21 event Champions that they earned last year.

In the Youth Open category, Billy Askew looks to continue his sensational season, riding with the #1 plate on his GTCI Revo Kawasaki, and he’s joined by fellow EMX250 Matterley racer Ollie Colmer, whilst Joel Rizzi will bring his GP experience to the table with his #3 bike, pictured below with Billy’s which will certainly raise questions as to his plans for 2024!
Here is the full Youth Open Entry List:
In the 85cc class, British riders Finley Pickering, “Rocket” Robbie Daly, and 2022 SW85 British Champion Hayden Statt line up against a talented Irish team of Kole Nally, Alfie Herron, and Ollie Holland. Team Belgium are the defending Champions in that class and could be tough to beat on home ground again.
Here is the 85cc Entry List:
In the 65cc class Team GB field the top three from the British Championship with Harley Marczak, Casey Lister fresh off his second straight Weston Beach Race win, and the rider who was second to him there, Cohen Jagielski.
It all happens at the traditional Belgian venue of Quievrain, and the circuit is more in the grassland region of Belgian so it is more of a British track than some of the more northern venues where it gets deep! Best of luck to all of the riders and let’s hope they bring it home for Blighty!
