Arenacross Futures Star Isaac Ash picks up AMA Supercross Ride

Talented 15-year-old Indoor Motocross specialist Isaac Ash has continued his winning ways in the Arenacross Tour as he moves up to the AX Futures class for 2024.

Having won every single main event in the Superminis class in 2023, then both races in the Futures Class at the AX Fest in September on a 125cc machine, the Devon-based star has moved up to a GASGAS MC250 Four-Sroke machine, sponsored by Gibbs Performance and MotoVerde, in order to compete against his older opposition this season. Not only that, but he has entered himself into the Ricky Carmichael Amateur Supercross race at the world-famous Daytona Raceway in March! We had a quick word with Isaac to ask him how he’s finding the new machine.

DH: Isaac, how was your first Arenacross on the full-sized 250F?

I really enjoyed riding the 250, the power delivery is very different to riding a 2 stroke, but I am feeling more comfortable with the bike each time I ride.  I went P1, P1, P1 in the morning, then in the main event I was winning the race and jumped on a yellow flag, which docked me two positions and put me P2 overall. That was a shame but it’s on to Belfast for the 19th and rounds two and three!

DH: Did you find it more intense among the older and stronger riders?

I am used to riding with older riders as I often ride with Ben and Joe Clayton at their place, Wheeldon Off-Road Centre, and against the adults in the Electric EXGB series too.

DH: Tell us about this race at Daytona, how did that come about?

Myself and my Dad talked about Daytona last year so we just tried to enter for it, and got in! We will be flying straight out following the final Arenacross round at Wembley. We are being provided a 250 GASGAS for a week’s intensive practice prior to the race at the famous Daytona Raceway. We are again being provided support from Motoverde and we will be taking out our race winning Gibbs Performance Team suspension set up.

DH: Has it been a goal of yours for some time then, to race AMA Supercross?

I am really looking forward to riding at Daytona it will be an amazing opportunity to ride with some of the best amateur riders in the US. It’s been a dream of mine since I started riding SX to go to America and I can’t wait for this chance!

Dirt Hub, and we’re sure all British fans will join us in this, wishes Isaac all the best in his American adventure.  Watch for this talented teenager in the AX Futures class of the 2024 Arenacross Tour as well.  It’s worth skipping a hot dog for!
