Another MXGB podium for Kullas at Hawkstone while Nunn breaks the MX2 top ten

The Cab Screens Crescent Yamaha Team and Harri Kullas continued their Revo MX1 British Championship campaign at Hawkstone Park this weekend, on the historic, sandy, Shropshire circuit.

Harri set the 5th fastest qualifying time and the once again had another storming holeshot to lead early on in race one. On lap 2, series leader, Conrad Mewse, came past, and Harri couldn’t quite stay with the new leader, remaining 2nd until the end.

An uncharacteristic mistake at the start of race two put Harri down in 15th place in the first few corners, moving up to 10th place at the end of lap one and pulling through the field to a brilliant 4th with a few laps to go. Harri made a fantastic late charge on Evgeny Bobryshev in third but came up short by less than a second at the finish.

2-4 race finishes gave Harri third overall and kept him second in the series points.

Harri Kullas “I had a good qualifying today with 5th place, giving me a decent gate pick. I holeshot race one and led a few laps before Conrad came past – I tried to keep him honest, but he had the speed today. I was happy to not let him get too far away though and also build a nice gap to Josh in 3rd

Race two I had a poor start, and it was difficult to come from the back. Finished 4th so not too bad, but I definitely had 2-2 in me today.

Now to focus on last two rounds, get some race wins again and also focus on keeping Josh in 3rd place in the championship

I have to say thanks to my mechanic, Steve, for the late nights and hard work, and to my team for the amazing effort and support”

Jamie Carpenter came into round five of the Revo ACU British Motocross Series full of confidence, after some strong results lately, as he finds his feet in the premier class.

Jamie had another good qualifying session with the 8th fastest time and then had a great start in 8th place, moving up to 7th mid-race, before the demanding sandy circuit took its toll on the rookie, as he dropped to 13th at the finish.

A much more consistent ride for Jamie in race two, as he rode smart on the now very rough Hawkstone circuit, sitting in 11th for most of the race, and finishing in the same place.

Jamie Carpenter Not the best of days. Good qualifying and a couple of good starts but struggled in the races. Brought home two consistent results for 11th overall and still 9th in the championship. Can’t quite find the sweet spot with bike set up yet, so plenty of work to do to improve before the next round”

Sam Nunn was looking to get his season back on track at Hawkstone Park, following a tough few weeks for our MX2 pilot.

Sam was 14th fastest in MX2 qualifying and then had a great start in race one, well inside the top ten, holding down 8th place for most of the race, with some fantastic battles on the way and finishing an eventual 9th.

In race two Sam was 11th on lap one and put in a sterling performance, picking off a few riders and maintaining consistent lap times, to move to an awesome 8th place at the finish, and importantly, moving four place up the points standings to 9th.

Sam Nunn “Good day at a very rough Hawkstone Park. 9-8 in motos wasn’t amazing, but happy to get two decent race results on the board, after a few tough weeks. Thanks to my team for all the support. Next up is The Patchquick trophy on Wednesday evening!”
