All systems go for Dyfed Dirt Bike Club, British Enduro Championship Round!

With the Dyfed Dirt Bike Club (DDBC) back hosting the second event of the BEC this year, it’s all systems go for the West Wales based club. Huw Watkins, with his vast experience, has been appointed clerk of the course for the May 18 /19 event held in and around the Brechfa forest some 15 miles North of Carmarthen.

The club are no strangers to running British Championship events. They held a round of the BEC years ago in the Tywi Forest, and since then, regular events have catered for the British Sidecar Championship, ACU Classic Twinshock series, as well as the Big Bike Rally Championship, almost every year.

Hopefully a lap of some 45 miles looks to be on the map for the May event

The club thrives on bringing young riders up through the ranks. Last year, it held the Enduro Kid an Enduro, the first of its kind in the UK, mainly seen in Europe; the idea was of club chairman Aled Evans, who is again taking a key role in putting together this years BEC. Neil Hawker was keen to get a BEC round back in Wales and was at the start area of last year’s Brechfa and Enduro Kid Enduro and immediately saw the potential for a challenging BEC forest timecard enduro in the area.

Key members from the DDBC are at present putting the route together with hopefully a lap of around 45 miles on offer with two special tests MX and Enduro both within waking distance from the start / finish area which will also house the petrol / checks.

All signs will lead to the Brechfa Forest in May for a BEC Round
