The team, based in Herefordshire and started in 1992 by Andrew Prosser, is now also co-managed by his son Ben, backed by AJP Stainless Ltd, the company owned by Andy and his brother Rob.  The company produces hygienic stainless steel pipework for food companies and breweries such as Heineken, as well as general steel fabrication work such as canal boat trailers and staircases.

The team was founded with help from Gareth Hockey, now the Director of British Championship promoters RHL Activities, and his late father Ray. They instantly won AMCA Championship titles with Paul Master and Andy Watkins. More recently, they have won AMCA titles with Simon Lane and Ben Saunders, who raced a 150cc two-stroke in the MX2 Class.  As well as Jayden and Ben, they will also run Jimmy Margetson in out door Motocross series such as the Acerbis Nationals and a selection of British Championship-level events.

AJP are competing in AX 2024 as they did in 2023, as they really enjoy the whole AX series. They consider it to be well ran, with good communication from the organisers and brilliant venues. The indoor racing is very enjoyable to a team as Andy and Rob both still race in the veteran’s classes, Andy soon to be in the Over 60s class!

Ben Prosser, who own’s ESP Graphics and runs the team day-to-day, says that enjoyment is their main priority: “Our riders have their own aims and targets with regards to results, but we don’t put any pressure on the riders to finish well. As long as they’ve tried their best there’s nothing more that we can do. We’ve decided to jump to Suzuki this year as it’s another challenge to be on an underdog bike and when there is success it feels even better!”

Although Ben Clayton missed the Main Event in Manchester, Jayden Ashwell finished a creditable 8th to put himself into 13th in the Points Standings, with Ben in 15th.
