Colt Nichols will race for Pipes Motorsports Group (PMG) in the 2024 FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) season, partnering two-time World Champion, Ken Roczen.
Nichols joined the WSX field in 2023 with Rick Ware Racing and enjoyed a promising first campaign which saw the Oklahoman secure a headline victory in the final race of the WSX Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
By joining PMG, Nichols will represent one of the most successful teams in WSX which secured five race wins, seven podiums, and two overall Grand Prix victories last season, while also claiming the 450cc WSX title with Roczen.
Colt Nichols, Rider, PMG, said: “I’m pumped to be racing in WSX in 2024, and I can’t wait to get started with the guys and girls at PMG Suzuki. I ended the 2023 season on a high with the win in Melbourne, and if we can find a good rhythm from the first race in Vancouver, I’d like to think that we could be in for a very memorable season this year. Racing at BC Place will be an awesome way to start the season, and I’m looking forward to going back to Australia and Abu Dhabi later in the year. Hopefully we can be in for a few podium finishes.”
Together, Nichols and Roczen will form a strong striking force across the coming season as the duo prepare to take on the 2024 campaign which features four rounds with races in Vancouver, Perth (double-header), and Abu Dhabi.
In 2024, Roczen will look to add further victories to his existing success in WSX, with the German setting out in pursuit of a third World Championship title in as many seasons.
Ken Roczen, Two-Time WSX World Champion, Rider, PMG, said: “It’s no secret that I’ll be back for WSX in 2024, and I’m confident that this season will be the most competitive yet. We have new tracks and returning riders like Eli [Tomac], so the battle on track will be gnarly and the fans will be in for some amazing racing all season. Since the injury earlier in the year, I’ve been working hard to come back and even though I’m against setting high expectations, the ultimate goal is to always win the World Championship – I want to go three for three this season. I’m looking forward to the season ahead and to working with Colt and can’t wait to get it started.”
The 2024 season will get underway on 26 October with the WSX Canadian Grand Prix at BC Place in Vancouver, before heading to HBF Park in Perth for the WSX Australian Grand Prix – the series’ first-ever double-header event featuring two rounds – on 23 & 24 November. The season will close at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on 4 December where two World Champions will be crowned.
