Team New Zealand 2024 Motocross of Nations squad unveiled!

Motorcycling New Zealand has unveiled its squad for the 2024 FIM Monster Energy Motocross of Nations to be held in England from the 4-6 October.

The team featuring Brodie Connolly, Hamish Harwood and Nathan Crawford will represent Motorcycling New Zealand at this esteemed event. James Scott has also been selected as a reserve rider.

With a storied history at the Motocross of Nations, New Zealand has come close to victory in the past, achieving three podium finishes. Notably, Team Manager Shayne King, a former World Motocross Champion, has celebrated two of those podiums.

Currently Connolly and Crawford are competing in the 2024 Australia Pro MX Championship, with Connolly leading the MX 2 class and Crawford standing third in the MX 1. Meanwhile, Harwood is coming off another successful season in New Zealand, having secured the MX 1 title and will soon be heading to Australia to race the MX1 final at QMP in Queensland.

For Connolly this will be his second time representing NZ and is looking to use the knowledge and current speed to give the team the boost in the MX2 class, Crawford, this marks his debut representing New Zealand at this prestigious event.
With all three riders in exceptional form, the team management remains optimistic. The riders are eagerly anticipating their performance on the grand stage, confident in the strong support they will receive from New Zealand.

King said: “After last year’s massive effort from the team in France. Both Bevan and I are proud once again to be heading to the biggest race in the World of Motocross to represent our country, and with a great pool of riders to choose from that applied we have a strong line up. Both Bevan and I would like to thank the Taupo Motorcycle Club and all the riders that attended the Battle of the Clubs event, as this is a key fundraising event for the New Zealand team, along with all the sponsors Penny Homes, Best Build Construction, Nutrition Systems C4, DUB Construction, Priority Demolition, a huge thanks to Motorcycling New Zealand.”
