Dirt Hub: Do you have a Pre-Race Playlist you listen to, and if so, name a couple of tracks that are on it?

Luke: I don’t have a playlist for that, my music taste is all over the place!

But American punk rock, grew up listening to green day, blink 182 etc so it would probably be stuff like that if i had to make a playlist.

DH: When was the last time you cried?

Luke: Probably watching Marley and me. Haha!

DH: What is your favourite inspirational quote?

Luke: Train like you’re in 2nd.

DH: Do you have any weird suspicions or pre-race rituals?

Luke: None really, well I always check nuts and bolts on the bike in a certain order, so I guess that counts!

DH: What drives you most to get up in the morning and go training?

Luke: Probably my wife and kids! Not so much training though, but getting up and going to work etc.

DH: If you didn’t race what sport would you play?

Luke: I would ride a lot more bmx and mtb, I grew up riding it all the time, i get out every now and then. Not into team sports, though.

DH: What is your biggest Phobia?

Luke: I haven’t got any I don’t think!

DH: Who is your biggest sporting idol, and why?

Luke: That’s a tough one, I don’t really have any to be honest, but maybe Danny ‘magoo’ Chandler, the bloke was an absolute mad dog! Always full send. Shame his life went sideways after a big crash but If you don’t know much about him, there’s a movie about his life on YouTube. (Vid Below)

DH: Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?

Luke: Hopefully still successful with my business and still racing at a high level; I’ve also got two lads who are 2 and 4; they are already fairly loose on their bikes, so I can’t see them being into much else, I guess I’ll end up at the schoolboy events eventually.

DH: What is your all-time favourite movie?

Luke: Dumb and dumber for sure!

DH: Who has had the biggest impact on your career?

Luke: My dad and brother, all the advice and help over the years!

Maybe even Jake Nichols, I’ve learnt a lot from Jake when riding at his house and stuff!

DH: What is your philosophy on life?

Luke: Have fun, don’t take life too seriously!
