Team GB Women’s World Trophy Team Claim Silver at ISDE

The ACU wish to congratulate the Team GB Women’s ISDE team for their fantastic result at the 2021 ISDE in Italy. Great Britain’s trio of Jane Daniels (Fantic), Nieve Holmes (GASGAS), and Rosie Rowett (KTM) were the only official team representing Team GB and the ACU following the withdrawal of the World Trophy and Junior teams.

The team started the week by finishing the opening day of the event in third place, behind the USA and Spain. On the second day Great Britain jumped into the runner-up spot with less than thirty seconds separate Spain and Great Britain after two full days of competition.
As the days progressed Great Britain managed to extend their position over Spain during the third, fourth and fifth days to ensure that the trio of Jane Daniels, Nieve Holmes, and Rosie Rowett were standing firm in second and looked all-but assured of a podium finish going into the final day and the Motocross test.

Great Britain’s Women upheld national pride and did exactly what they needed to do during the final day’s motocross races and secured a deserved runner-up overall Women’s World Trophy result. Despite eventual third place finishers Spain closing to within less than one minute of Nieve Holmes, Jane Daniels, and Rosie Rowett, GB’s women held firm and took the runner-up spot.

The ACU Trial and Enduro Committee would like to give grateful thanks to the team sponsors Witter Towbars, Westfalia Automotive, Michelin Tyres, Enduro Tyres, Wincanton Print, Monsters of Dirt, Racegeer, CMF trailers, Morzine Ski Holidays, Gwalia Hire, Shot Racegear and Twin Air Filters. A big thank you also to those individuals who supported the team through the Gofundme campaign.

The ACU would also like to thank Neville and Jude King for the complicated logistics management along with support crew of Shaun, Dougie, Van and Gordon, Mick Seward in his role as Women’s Trophy Team Manager, Malcolm Bates the ACU delegate and to all the friends and family members who gave their services in support of the British effort.

Speaking of the team’s achievements, Team Manager, Mick Seward commented “This is our 2nd ISDE completed with the same 3 girls. They gave 100% from the first test to the chequered flag at the final MX and were a joy to work with making my role as manager very easy. For everyone else the job wasn’t easy though, from the logistics, service crews and of course the riders, it was a tough week but they all rose to the challenge and together we got a great result.”
