Foxborough Quarry, Hedingham, was the venue of the first Youth series race of the season for Sudbury MCC after restrictions were finally lifted for outdoor sporting events, and with covid restrictions in place and sadly no crowds to watch the nine youngsters sprint to their bikes after a Le Mans start a bright chilly afternoon of very competitive racing followed for the riders who last met on a course at Great Cornard in September.

Will Turtle was first away from Leyton Turner, Mackenzie Green and Mason Miller hot on his heels. A shortened course from the Adult Track earlier in the day it held plenty of technical questions for the competitors and after a few laps, Mason Miller took the lead from Leyton with local rider Will Turtle in third, by this time the field was strung out over the whole course after a late start from Alex Dutton who following a bike failure at the start ended up borrowing a bike and joined the race a few laps in and still finished just 4 laps off the leaders.
Up to the chequered flag, the top three battled it out all finishing on the same number of laps with Will Turtle taking the podium position with Leyton Turner in second place and Mason in third after having problems on his last lap. The series is promising to be exciting as the season unfolds and everyone gets race fit again.
