Anstie and Wilson in contention for World Supercross glory in Melbourne!

British riders Max Anstie and Dean Wilson are gunning for World Championship honours at the final round of the series, the Australian Grand Prix, at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Saturday morning UK time!

The top riders of the FIM World Supercross Championship joined SX Global CEO Adam Bailey, for the opening press conference of the WSX Australian Grand Prix.

WSX top three Ken Roczen, Joey Savatgy and Dean Wilson, together with SX2’s Shane Mcelrath, Max Anstie, Chris Blose and Maxime Desprey discussed their respective race preparation, the Melbourne track, and what it will take to be crowned a WSX or SX2 World Champion come Saturday night.

WSX Championship Standings

It’s a showdown between red plate holder Joey Savatgy and reigning champ Ken Roczen for the world title, but if they both slip up then Dean Wilson and Vince Friese have outside chances, although they are likely to be battling each other for the bronze medal!

SX2 Championship Standings

Max Anstie has a solid 32-point lead with 75 points left on the table. If Max is in the top two positions in each of the first two races, then he will be Champion even if McElrath wins them both!
