Team Australia’s Jett Lawrence won the Open Class Qualifying race at the 2024 Motocross of Nations at Matterley Basin.
Lawrence had to work for his victory, with Spain’s Ruben Fernandez gaining the early lead and keeping on his tail for a good portion of the race. Team France’s Maxime Renaux settled into a lonely third position and was followed by Team GB’s Conrad Mewse, who put in a heroic ride to come from around tenth place after an early mistake on the first few corners.
Andrea Bonacorsi for Team Italy kept USA’s Aaron Plessinger at bay for fifth, with the American having to make some passes to move forward into sixth.
