2024 Eastern Centre Motocross Championship resumes at Blaxhall – Round 2 Preview

Sunday 14th April will see the Woodbridge DMCC hosting their first motocross meeting of the 2024 season at the Blaxhall Circuit near Woodbridge. The event will see a full line-up of 200 riders competing in the Expert and Junior classes across a bumper 15 race programme for the second round of the Stebbings Car Superstore and Norton Way Honda ACU Eastern Motocross Championship.

The Woodbridge DMCC have been busy preparing for an exciting and action-packed year ahead at their Blaxhall venue and Sunday’s meeting is the second round of the Championship following the opening round last weekend at Wakes Colne. With a full line up of Expert riders entered, they will be competing in their own Championship races and battling it out for valuable championship points.

Coming into the second round it is British Championship rider and club member Tom Grimshaw who leads the Expert Championship ahead of fellow club member Sam Nunn. Former Champion Lewis Tombs sits in third ahead of reigning Champion Luke Parker who currently sits in fourth place ahead of another former Champion Shaun Southgate. The top 5 are sure to have plenty of competition at Blaxhall from former Grand Prix rider and British Championship rider Jake Nicholls along with Ben Mustoe and Tyla Hooley who are sure to be mixing it at the front and challenging for race wins.

Other Experts include Max Broadbelt who claimed a number of race wins at Blaxhall last year along with Luke Benstead and ex multi–Champion Aston Bird who is making a return to the sport and local regulars such as Bayliss Utting, William Farrow, Brad Woodroffe, Declan Whittle, Ben Cole, Tom Murphy while last year’s Junior Champion Charlie Nudds along with Connor Bunkle, Shane Lock are all moving up to the Experts.

The Junior Championship classes will feature 160 riders and is sure to produce plenty of exciting action as the season get underway. Tim Warnes currently leads the standings after round 1, ahead of Matthew Pope and Jamie Cox. The riders will be split across four groups, from the Junior Championship class to the support groups.

All the action starts at 9am with the first block of racing starting straight after Practice. Admission prices are £10 for Adults and £5 for Unaccompanied Children.
