Alex has represented Team GB in the Junior category of the ISDE 6 days in 2019 and has just returned from another successful ISDE trip to the 2022 edition of the gruelling event. This will be Welsh youngsters first Weston Beach Race and he will be looking to be competitive in what will be a stacked field of riders. Ahead of his first Weston Beach Race, Alex Walton said:
“I’m really looking forward to my first beach race, I’ve been close the last few years to racing Weston but it’s never happened so I can’t wait to get amongst it. Thank you to FIR for the opportunity. I’ve had a good season in my Enduro Championship’s this year with good results. Recently I’ve started doing some sand riding to prepare & change the bike setup from normal Enduro racing, so hopefully I can bring that speed to Weston from my Enduro races. I know it will be tough with it being my first Beach Race and not having much experience with the race, but I feel confident that I can do well with the format. I can’t wait! “
Having a top level British Enduro racer enter the Biggest Motorsport in the UK it certainly will provide some great competitive racing at the sharp end. With Alex practicing for a new type of racing and changing his bike to suit the unique sand conditions, it will be interesting to see how he will perform at this year’s Weston Beach Race on October 21st-23rd.
