In a post regarding the cancellation, Paul also said that they would be stepping away from the series in 2023, which puts huge question marks over the championship for next year with many other promoters struggling for entries for Extreme Enduro events this year.

The full statement from Paul Edmondson is as follows:

“COWM IS OFF This weekend riders …. Unfortunately due to lack of entry’s and interest if I’m honest we will not be running the Final Round of this year’s championship. With a lot of riders already committed to sea to sky and other events entry’s where very slow coming in . We have also made a decision to step away from the championship for 2023 and move on to something new to add in our events for next year . Thanks to all involved especially the riders who supported the championship over many years but it’s now time to move aside and move on . Thanks Fast Ed .”
